Racontez comment vous avez trouvé le projet et quelle a été votre première maquette.

Qu’est-ce qui vous a surpris lors du montage ? Quel conseil donneriez-vous à une personne qui débute ? Les photos de vos premiers essais sont bienvenues.

I actually found City-Builder through Etsy first. I was browsing paper models and somehow ended up on one of the Megacity listings. I liked the idea, but didn’t really understand how big the whole project was at first.

Later I came across a few videos on Instagram showing the buildings being assembled and parts of the city together, and that’s what really got me interested :) After that I checked out the website and realized there were multiple magazines and that everything connects into one big city. Been following the project ever since. :emo_030:

I’ve been working on this project for quite a while now. I really enjoy it, and I’m completely immersed in it. I also want to try building cities in different styles.

It’s definitely a very exciting concept with so much potential! Thank you! :)

I think I saw an advert on Instagram. I usually ignore Instagram ads but this one just hit a nerve and I clicked through. I was impressed by the look of the buildings as well as their range but what really won me over was the price. Instagram ads are so often for things which are very overpriced. At less than £5 for a set of many houses these are well priced which is a good ploy - it means I don't have to think or worry before buying the latest download! What is surprising is just how tough these little buildings are once built; really quite solid. As someone else mentioned somewhere, just a few more little build notes might be useful. I find I can generally work it out if I look at the pictures of the completed building but now and again it takes a moment!I'm using 180gsm card from Hobbycraft in the UK - it works well but I might try something slightly lighter for the smaller items. 180 seems a little thick for the tram stops, trams and trains. All in all it's lots on fun and I would recommend. I'm retired now - I would have thought these were absolutely wonderful when I was 12 or so. I found the old Micromodels kits when I was 20 and thought they were wonderful. There was somewhere in London which stocked some old stock and I would buy one or two now and again. There were ships, trains and buildings. Again - lots of fun.

I actually discovered City-Builder through Instagram. I came across a short video showing a miniature city made entirely from paper, and at first I thought it was some kind of 3D-printed model :)

What really caught my attention wasn't just the buildings, but the whole city layout. The roads, residential blocks, industrial areas... it reminded me of SimCity, except you could actually build it on your table.

I followed the link to the website, looked through the magazines, and ended up spending way too much time studying the maps before even buying anything! :emo_005:

I think the idea of gradually building a real miniature city is what got me interested. And now I'm already thinking about how to turn it into a proper turn-based strategy game. I guess I can't just enjoy a model city without trying to invent rules for it :emo_002::emo_001:
